I am getting married in June of 2011. How early is too early to start looking for a weddins dress?

I have just been lookin around at some wedding dresses. I found a couple I really liked and I wanted to go and try them on. Is it too early?I am getting married in June of 2011. How early is too early to start looking for a weddins dress?
No it is not too early to start looking and trying on wedding dresses, see what fits you right, and everything, but i suggest not buying a wedding gown right now, cause you style and taste may change, and your size may change, like go down. I got my gown really early. My wedding is in May 2010 and I got my gown in January. I didn't plan on it that is just how it happen to work out. My mom surprised me! I think it would be okay to try on some gowns here and there but don't buy until 2010. I am glad I am not the only one out there planning early! Keep in mind to be looking into locations, that could be a lengthy process and sometimes it takes awhile to book the venue of your dreams. I wish you all of the absolute best!!! It really depends on your size.


If you intend to lose/gain weight before the ceremony then I would suggest that you wait until you're the size you want to be.


Another thing you might want to consider is pregnancy- are you like to be pregnant at any stage in the run up to the wedding? This will obviously change your shape drastically!


Also, fashions and trends change regularly so if you're a bit of a fashionista then I would say wait and see what's in style closer to the time.

Its never too early, I would say to buy one around 8-12 months before the wedding but its always a good idea to look for a dress way before the wedding so you get a good idea of what dress you would like and what looks gorgeous on you.

Definitely not too early. I'm getting married June 2010 and I already have my dress purchased. The only thing I would be worried about for you buying so early is that you may end up finding something you like better later on down the road. I'm not someone who changes her mind, so it was fine for me to buy. If you are indecisive...I'd wait.
wow really? because I'm getting married in march and I just bought mine 2 days ago (and I thought I was too early, lol)! I think you should wait because your body might change and/or the styles of the dresses and what's 'in' can change as well.. you can try out dresses now to find out which cut suits you best but I wouldnt buy now..

I would say it is too early, because your body can change shapes in two years, either thinner or bigger, so i would buy it in around 2010 decemberish, but if your just trying it on, its not too early, however you might really love one and want to buy it and have the urge to so good luck
NEVER TO EARLY! You may find what you want tomorrow or in a year. It's a smart thing to get a good diea of what you want first, which means you could make some sketches or just go out and look for one.
Well I am getting married in april 2011 and I have been looking for the last month at everything from dresses to favours to decorations! so I think it is never too soon Just DON'T buy your dress until like 6 months before!
